These accreditation’s are obtained by completing a 40 hour training seminar with the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers and then being accepted for accreditation with each of the listed service organizations. These accreditation’s allow the County Veteran Service Officer to access a veteran’s files within the VA system provided the veteran has given power of attorney to one of the listed Veteran’s Associations. To maintain the accreditation’s the Veteran Service Officer must complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education every year.
